Hello there... . it's always nice to put a face to a name and a voice!
... back in 1986 when I was working in Corporate America I realized I was in a rut and not getting much out of my days. After one of my trips back home to Scotland and going through the shops, it dawned on me that we needed something like this back in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - so, upon my return I started looking in to the possibility of opening a store and, after lots of research, I began putting the pieces of the puzzle together and came up with this great store - A British Accent - my first venue opened in August 1987 in Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA, on Route 19 up on the Wexford Flats. It was a great success, then one day my husband told me he was being transferred to California - I thought, who in their right mind would buy wool sweaters in that neck of the woods. Was I surprised.
My store was located in the Canyon Crest Shopping Centre in Riverside, California, and even though we were located in a desert environment, my woollens were a huge success - the shop exceeded all expectations.
Then, hubby dearest, was transferred back again to Pittsburgh, he really was pushing it, if you catch my drift. Anyhow, the shop opened on Copeland Street in the Village of Shadyside in Pittsburgh - same results, great. I opened another venue in Sewickley, a suburb of Pittsburgh, and Western Pennsylvania was the perfect storm for my jewellery, gifts and imported woollens. Circumstances prevailed and I closed my physical stores in 2009.
I have decided to re-generate my business, this time under the name, The Wrap of Luxury specializing in Scottish-Irish Specialty Goods including woollens and gifts from Wales and England - I do not have a bricks and mortar store, I am 100% ONLINE thereby making it so much easier for you to shop, 24/7 at your convenience. No matter the weather, you will be able to afford yourself access to the authentic top-of-the-line products I am offering to accommodate your busy lifestyle. I do not stock in bulk as do the High Street Stores - I prefer to keep the woollens and various other products in limited quantities; therefore, It is my pleasure to assist you with any questions you may have regarding my inventory.
